I first went to see Dr. Riley because of complaints from my wife about my snoring. She was losing so much sleep over it that she was considering
separate bedrooms. She also said that I was waking her up when I would stop
breathing and then gasp for air. Through oximetry testing Dr. Riley determined that I had a severe sleep
apnea problem as well as the snoring problem.
I was fitted for an oral appliance which I wear while sleeping. My
snoring immediately stopped and I no longer gasp for air while sleeping. A
second oximetry test verified that the apnea was at a much lower level. It took a while to get used to having the appliance in my mouth all night,
but the results were worth it.

To whom it may concern: {all patients who have sleep
apnea}
I have had sleep apnea for many years and have used a CPAP to treat
it. It was very uncomfortable to sleep with and the noise from the
air escaping from the side of the mask was very annoying and would
constantly wake me.
At a recent sleep study exam I met a patient that was using a dental
device (MRD) to treat his sleep apnea and he claimed that the results were
remarkable. That's when I decided to pursue this type of treatment.
After consultations with two doctors I made an
appointment with Dr. Riley and was assured he could help me. Dr.
Riley ordered a special dental device (MDR) and I felt very comfortable
sleeping that night. The snoring was completely eliminated and after
a few adjustments to the dental device (MDR) I had another sleep study and
the results were astonishing. My sleep apnea was under control and I
was getting a good night's sleep. It's amazing what that device has
done for me. I am getting a good nights sleep every night and never
feel tired during the day.
A very satisfied client.

Dear Dr. Riley,
I am
writing to let you know how happy I am with the silencer you fitted me
with. As you know I have been using a C-PAP for over a year and
found it very annoying. My apnea was getting worse and as the
pressure was raised in the C-PAP it continued to become harder and
harder to keep on during the night. I have also tried surgery,
however that did not prevent the episodes of apnea.
My wife read about your device and I made
contact with your office. I was happy to find a very quick
response from your office. I was able to get an appointment right
away and you fitted me for the device on the first visit. Laura,
on your staff, has been a great help in answering any questions that I
have. Everything from insurance to the fitting of the device.
Now, after using the device for approx. 3
months, I would never go back to the C-PAP. It is so much more
comfortable, not cumbersome and no machine noise. I found it very
easy to adjust to and not uncomfortable like the C-PAP mask. It is
also so much easier to take when traveling.
Thank you Dr. Riley and Laura for
pursuing new ideas. I have already recommended it to people I work
with who also suffer from apnea.
Sincerely,

To whom it may concern:
After
looking into a couple of "invasive" procedures to reduce my
soft palate and uvula tissue, my research led me to Dr. Riley's
office. I was interested in the idea of jaw repositioning as a
means of controlling my loud snoring as well as providing me with better
air flow during my sleep.
To date, the mandibular repositioning device
has dramatically reduced my snoring and has enabled me to get a more satisfactory
nights rest. I would highly recommend exploring this method before
any decisions to remove or shrink throat tissue is finalized.
Dr. Riley and his entire staff have been most
helpful and their professional care have made my experience a very
successful and pleasant one.

Over 2 years ago, Dr. Riley told me of his work in
the field of sleep disorders. Because of my severe snoring, sleep
apnea and night terrors, I was a prime candidate for the
"silencer." Within a few weeks, I was wearing a
silencer. I no longer snore or have any of the other symptoms that
interrupted my sleep. I thank God for Dr. Riley's pursuit in this
very important field of dentistry. My life has changed
dramatically for the better. I now wake up rested and
refreshed. Thank you Dr. Riley from the bottom of my heart.

I have been using the "silencer" for two years and am most happy and
satisfied with it. I had tried C-Pap and discontinued it...too uncomfortable and cumbersome. My sleep has improved, my snoring
days are over and a great bonus: I have not had a respiratory infection of
any kind in well over a year. I would definitely recommend this form of
treatment for noisy, troublesome snoring...it has really substantially improved my life,
Venner.
